ಇದು ಯಕ್ಷ ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಸಾದನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನಗಾಥೆಯ ಅನಾವರಣ.. ಇಂದಿನ ನಮ್ಮ ಯಕ್ಷಸಾಧಕರು ಬಡಗುತಿಟ್ಟಿನ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಪುಂಡುವೇಷಧಾರಿ,ಅಭಿನವ ಅಭಿಮನ್ಯು.ಮಾರಣಕಟ್ಟೆ ಮೇಳದ ಕಲಾವಿದರಾದ ಕೊಳಲಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು.. ಇವರು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಯಡಮೊಗೆ ಸಮೀಪದ ಕೊಳಾಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋವಿಂದ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸದಿಯಮ್ಮ ಶೆಡ್ತಿಯವರ ಕಿರಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನಾಗಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ: 09.08.1967ರಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದರು.. ಬಾಲ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನದ ಅಭಿರುಚಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಇವರು, ತನ್ನ ಹದಿಮೂರನೆಯ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಐದನೆಯ ತರಗತಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಮೊಟಕುಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ಆಗಿನ ಕಮಲಶಿಲೆ ಮೇಳದ ಯಜಮಾನರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಕನ್ನಂತರ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಕಮಲಶಿಲೆ ಮೇಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡರು.. ನಂತರ ಆಲೂರು ಸುರೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ಸೋಮಯಾಜಿಯವರಿಂದ ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ ಕಲೆಯ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಗಳ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಕರಗತ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಹಂತಹಂತವಾಗಿ ಯಕ್ಷರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾದಿಸುತ್ತ ಬಂದರು.. ಖಚಿತ ಲಯಸಿದ್ದಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ,ಪಾದರಸ ಸದೃಶ್ಯ ಪಾದಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಇವರ, ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ನಾಟ್ಯ, ಹಿತಮಿತವಾದ ಮಾತುಗಾರಿಕೆ,ರಂಗದ ಚೌಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಮೀರದ ಇವರ ರಂಗನಡೆ,ಸುಂದರವಾದ ವೇಷಭೂಷಣಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಲಾಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಬಲ್ಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ಇವರದ್ದು... ದಕ್ಷ ಯಜಮಾನರೆಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾದ ಯಕ್ಷಭೀಷ್ಮ ದಿ. ಎಂ.ಎಂ.ಹೆಗ್ಡೆಯವರ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ರಂಗ ಚೌಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ,ಐರ್ಬೈಲು ಆನಂದ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ,ಗೋಳಿಕೆರೆ ಚಂದ್ರ ಗೌಡ,ದಿ.ನೀಲಾವರ ಮಹಾಬಲ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ,ಉಮೇಶ ಸುವರ್ಣ,ದಿ.ಮೊಳಹಳ್ಳಿ ಹೆರಿಯ ನಾಯ್ಕ ಆಲೂರು ಸುರೇಂದ್ರ ಉಪ್ಪಿನಕುದ್ರು ಆನಂದ,ಯಳಬೇರು ಶೇಖರ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಹೆನ್ನಾಬೈಲು ಸಂಜೀವ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರಂಥ ಹಿರಿಯ ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಒಡನಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ,ಬಡಗುತಿಟ್ಟಿನ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದ ವೇಷಧಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ರೂಪಗೊಂಡರು ... ಅಭಿಮನ್ಯು ಕಾಳಗದ ಇವರ ಅಭಿಮನ್ಯು ಪಾತ್ರ ಇವರಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೃಷ್ಣ,ಸುಧನ್ವ,ಧರ್ಮಾಂಗದ,ಲವ,ಕುಶ, ಶುಭಾಂಗ,ಬಬ್ರುವಾಹನ,ದೇವವ್ರತ, ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರಣಕಟ್ಟೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಮಹಾತ್ಮೆಯ ಸ್ಕಂದನ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ..ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿನ ಇವರ ಪಾತ್ರಪೋಷಣೆ,ಅಭಿನಯ,ಲಾಲಿತ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ನಾಟ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚದೆ ಇರುವ ಕಲಾಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನಬಹುದು..ಬಹು ಸುದೀರ್ಘ ವರ್ಷ ಮಾರಣಕಟ್ಟೆ ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಇವರು,ಪೆರ್ಡೂರು, ಕಮಲಶಿಲೆ,ಸೌಕೂರು, ನೀಲಾವರ,ಮಂದಾರ್ತಿ. ಮೊದಲಾದ ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕಲಾ ಪ್ರೌಢಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪದರ್ಶಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಪುನಃ ಮಾರಣಕಟ್ಟೆ ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.. ಇವರ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಕಲಾಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ ಹಲವು ಸಂಘ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಇವರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿವೆ.. ಪತ್ನಿ ಶೀಲಾವತಿ ಇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅನುರೂಪ ದಾಂಪತ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸಾದ ಎನ್ನುವ ಎರಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಇವರು ಸಂತೃಪ್ತ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.. ಇವರಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ವರ್ಷ ಯಕ್ಷಮಾತೆಯ ಕಲಾಸೇವೆಗೈಯುವ ಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿ,ಇವರ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಿಸಲಿ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಯಕ್ಷಮಂದಾರದ ಶುಭಹಾರೈಕೆ... ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ: ಸಂತೋಷ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಹಾಲಾಡಿ. ನಿರೂಪಣೆ: ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅಮೃತಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ..
